Description

You own the full lifecycle administration of a 200+ Linux environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain ~222 Linux servers across production, QA, and development environments.
  • Implement and manage patching cadence, kernel updates, and OS upgrades.
  • Lead root cause analysis for production incidents and resolve Sev1/Sev2 outages.
  • Secure and harden systems using SELinux configuration and CIS/STIG best practices.
  • Assess and remediate deprecated platform components while standardizing configurations.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience.
  • Strong experience with Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky, or Ubuntu.
  • Proven experience managing 100+ server environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Kernel tuning, LVM, and file systems (ext4, XFS).
  • Proficiency with systemd, cron, and process management.
  • Experience configuring DNS, NTP, SSH, and TCP/IP fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with NFS/Samba and supporting Linux in virtualized environments.
  • Experience supporting integrations with IBM i (OS/400) systems.
  • Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
