You own the full lifecycle administration of a 200+ Linux environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain ~222 Linux servers across production, QA, and development environments.
- Implement and manage patching cadence, kernel updates, and OS upgrades.
- Lead root cause analysis for production incidents and resolve Sev1/Sev2 outages.
- Secure and harden systems using SELinux configuration and CIS/STIG best practices.
- Assess and remediate deprecated platform components while standardizing configurations.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience.
- Strong experience with Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky, or Ubuntu.
- Proven experience managing 100+ server environments.
- Deep knowledge of Kernel tuning, LVM, and file systems (ext4, XFS).
- Proficiency with systemd, cron, and process management.
- Experience configuring DNS, NTP, SSH, and TCP/IP fundamentals.
- Familiarity with NFS/Samba and supporting Linux in virtualized environments.
- Experience supporting integrations with IBM i (OS/400) systems.
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
