Description

You will own aircraft external loads analysis from early conceptual sizing through detailed certification. You perform static and dynamic structural analyses for maneuver, gust, ground, and environmental conditions. You lead flutter, aeroelastic stability, and structural dynamics assessments at component and full-vehicle levels. You plan and execute Ground Vibration Testing (GVT) and Structural Mode Interaction (SMI), including model correlation. You support flight flutter testing through pre-test analysis, real-time monitoring, and post-flight data interpretation. You maintain finite element models and validate analysis methods using scripting tools. You collaborate with stress, design, and flight test teams to ensure loads assumptions are correctly applied.

Responsibilities

• Develop and substantiate aircraft external loads across all design phases.
• Perform static and dynamic structural analyses for various loading conditions.
• Lead flutter and aeroelastic stability analyses at component and vehicle levels.
• Execute and correlate Ground Vibration Testing (GVT) and Structural Mode Interaction (SMI) data.
• Support flight flutter testing with pre-test predictions and post-flight interpretation.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in Loads & Dynamics for aerospace vehicles.
• Strong foundation in structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, and aircraft loads theory.
• Proficiency with NASTRAN-based solvers and FEM pre/post-processors.
• Experience with modal analysis, flutter analysis, and external loads development.
• Hands-on experience with GVT, SMI, or correlated test/analysis workflows.
• Understanding of aircraft structural behavior, including composites and bonded joints.
• Ability to bridge hand calculations with advanced FEA and sound engineering judgment.
• Strong scripting skills in MATLAB or Python for loads processing and automation.
