Description

You will manage the installation, migration, and maintenance of IBM MQ and related products within a z/OS environment. You will own system performance, tuning, and monitoring while executing upgrades and maintaining disaster recovery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage MQ system performance, tuning, and monitoring.
• Execute installation, migration, and maintenance tasks for MQ and associated products.
• Review implementation procedures to recommend improvements for product releases and system upgrades.
• Perform problem determination and interface directly with IBM problem support groups.
• Maintain disaster recovery procedures and participate in testing.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in mainframe administration.
• Deep knowledge of IBM MQ, including MQ Explorer, MQ Visual Edit, and MQAUSX v3.5 (Capitalware).
• Experience with IBM Tivoli Omegamon XE and Sysview.
• Proficiency with z/OS functions including APF, LINKLIST, LPA, and VSAM.
• Hands-on experience with SMP/E, HOLDDATA, early codes, and library management (Zones/Libraries, System libraries).
• Understanding of QSG configuration, CFSTRUCT, SMD S, and Group object definitions (qlocal, channel, Qremote, Process).
• Knowledge of ACF2 security protocols.
• Understanding of how applications interact with MQ.
