Description

Manage and optimize z/OS environments within a complex Parallel Sysplex architecture.

You will own the full lifecycle of z/OS engineering, from installation and customization to ongoing maintenance and tuning. This role requires deep expertise in SMP/E, TCP/IP, and storage management to ensure system stability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Execute z/OS installation, customization, and maintenance tasks across Parallel Sysplex environments.
• Manage zSeries hardware and software implementations, including pre- and post-implementation impact analysis.
• Perform debugging, tuning, and capacity planning to reduce mean time to recovery.
• Provide technical direction, mentoring, and education to programmers and support associates.
• Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and manage change control in a regulated environment.

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of solid experience in z/OS engineering.
• Advanced or expert level SMP/E experience.
• Experience with TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in z/OS installation and customization.
• Expertise in storage management and hardware configuration.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills

• MainView installation, maintenance, and customization.
• Performance and capacity reporting using zPCA, SAS/MXG, or Intellimagic.
• z/OSMF product installation and deployment.
