Description

You will lead the strategic modernization and migration of mission-critical mainframe systems from z/OS to z/Linux environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the migration from z/OS to z/Linux while ensuring system availability and performance.
  • Design migration plans for transitioning from IMS to DB2, including data conversion and validation frameworks.
  • Manage the phase-out of legacy Broadcom products to minimize business impact and maintain stability.
  • Create architectural documentation, including transition plans, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Mentor team members on mainframe modernization techniques and emerging technologies.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in mainframe architecture.
  • Deep technical expertise in z/OS and z/Linux operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with IMS and DB2 database management systems.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale mainframe modernization projects.
  • Expertise in system performance tuning and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of high-availability architecture design.
  • Understanding of mainframe security principles and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with mainframe disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Ability to manage the phase-out of Broadcom mainframe products.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures involving mainframe systems.
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps practices in mainframe environments.
  • Experience with automated testing and deployment tools for mainframe applications.
