Description

Lead legacy modernization initiatives by designing architectures that transition workloads from mainframe and non-x86 systems to cloud or on-premises platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze on-prem mainframe applications and data stores to formulate migration plans.
• Design AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenShift architectures for migrated workloads.
• Extract business rules from COBOL, PL1, and Natural programming languages.
• Implement DevOps practices including infrastructure as code and automated deployment.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe and non-x86 legacy systems.
• 10+ years of experience designing enterprise system architectures.
• 5+ years as a technical lead migrating workloads to distributed x86 infrastructures.
• 5+ years integrating mainframe systems with distributed Linux or Windows servers.
• Deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, Java, and Rexx.
• Proficiency with z/OS and AS400 platforms.
• Experience with CAST Highlight, CAST Imaging, Microfocus, and Heirloom products.
• Knowledge of zD&T and data conversion tools for migrating proprietary data stores.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of designing MongoDB, Bigframe, or data lake solutions.
