Description

You will lead technical analysis and architecture design for IBM mainframe systems, driving improvements in performance, stability, and resiliency.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes, applications, and infrastructure to identify pain points and recommend architectural improvements.
• Document current-state systems and build future-state roadmaps across all tiers, including middleware and data layers.
• Lead technical discussions with clients regarding architecture diagrams, code, and data structures.
• Develop work plans, process flows, and diagrams to support business cases and program-level analysis.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with IBM Z-Series mainframe technologies and COBOL.
• Proficiency with JCL, IMS, CICS, and MQ.
• Strong DB2 database experience and ability to perform capacity and performance analysis.
• Experience managing large complex batch operations and integrations with distributed Linux and Windows systems.
• Knowledge of N-Tiered architectures, including ESBs, Web Services, and messaging constructs.
• Understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD, configuration management, and automated deployment.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development and providing technical leadership to agile teams.
• Working knowledge of physical, virtual, and cloud deployment strategies, including SaaS and PaaS.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with IBM I-series/System I/AS400.
• Financial Services industry background.
• Experience with Data Warehouse (traditional and Big Data) and Master Data Management.
