Define modernization strategies and target-state architecture for legacy mainframe workloads, leading migration to cloud or distributed platforms.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Conduct discovery and assessment of existing mainframe workloads including COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, IMS, and CICS.
• Define modernization strategies (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Replace) and develop detailed migration roadmaps with risk mitigation and rollback plans.
• Design target-state architecture for rehosted applications on GCP or distributed platforms, ensuring compliance with security, performance, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Design ETL processes to migrate mainframe data (Datacom) to SQL Server and create blueprints for integration with modern systems.
• Provide technical leadership and SME guidance to engineering teams during code migration, data transformation, batch job execution, and production control.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with legacy technologies: COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, IMS, DB2.
• Proficiency in Easytrieve, IDEAL, Datacom, RPG, ASM, and MQ.
• Experience designing migration strategies for mainframe modernization and rehosting.
• Understanding of interfacing systems and ongoing project landscapes.
• Ability to communicate architecture and strategy to stakeholders and executives.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in application development using these legacy technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating with cloud teams on GCP-based modernization initiatives.
• Any Graduate with proven technical leadership in mainframe environments.
