Description

You will architect and optimize complex mainframe systems, leading design strategy for z/OS, Db2, CICS, and storage infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical, and physical architectures for core mainframe components including security and messaging queues.
• Analyze system performance to identify bottlenecks, implementing tuning strategies for optimal efficiency and capacity.
• Develop modernization roadmaps to integrate legacy environments with cloud platforms, microservices, and APIs.
• Provide L3 support for middleware and system components, diagnosing complex technical issues and ensuring high availability.
• Enforce architecture governance, writing technical documentation and leading development teams on best practices.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe architecture and engineering.
• Deep expertise in z/OS, Db2, CICS, VSAM, JCL, and COBOL.
• Proficiency with mainframe utilities (SORT, IEBGENER) and debugging tools (Xpeditor, IBM DEBUG).
• Experience with modernization integration using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Hands-on knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps toolchains (Jenkins, GitHub).
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and backup/recovery planning.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with REXX, PL/I, or Assembler.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and change management tools.
