Description

You will lead the architectural design and modernization strategy for legacy mainframe systems within a financial accounting context.

Responsibilities

• Design mainframe solutions to ensure system reliability, performance, and security during the transition from legacy systems to Java.
• Execute a discovery phase to assess current legacy functionalities, identify inefficiencies, and map requirements for modernization.
• Oversee the implementation and integration of mainframe systems by coordinating with development, infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Develop architecture frameworks, standards, and best practices to support scalable and efficient solutions.
• Conduct performance analysis to identify bottlenecks and optimize mainframe capacity.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in mainframe environments with a focus on architecture and system design.
• Extensive experience with COBOL in an architect or analyst capacity.
• Proven experience with Java and mainframe modernization projects.
• Background in financial banking systems and banking domain requirements.
• Experience integrating mainframe systems with distributed systems or cloud environments.
• Proficiency in mainframe performance tuning, capacity planning, and systems management.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation tools within mainframe environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
