Description

You will own the architecture, maintenance, and performance of z/OS and z/Linux systems, ensuring high availability and consistent operational standards.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute z/OS and z/Linux system upgrades, including JES2/JES3 migrations and PTF maintenance.
• Monitor system performance, analyze logs and dumps, and implement tuning to meet availability objectives.
• Manage incident and problem resolution, coordinating with developers and ISVs to fix issues.
• Automate repetitive tasks and develop operational procedures to improve system consistency.
• Administer system parameters, parmlib, and access controls (RACF/ACF2) for security and stability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with System z architecture and z/OS system upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of JES2/JES3, VTAM, TCP/IP, and ACF2/RACF administration.
• Experience with z/Linux system cloning, configuration, and memory/file system allocation.
• Proficiency in building Mainframe LPARs and performing OS upgrades.
• Ability to tune performance using monitoring tools and manage ISV products.
• Experience with disaster recovery exercises and system availability planning.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with z/OS version 3.2 or above.
• Familiarity with GDPS and DIRMAINT administration.
