Lead architectural strategy for complex mainframe systems and drive modernization initiatives.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical, and physical architectures for z/OS, Db2, CICS, Storage, Security, and MQ environments.
• Analyze system performance to identify bottlenecks and execute tuning for optimal efficiency and capacity.
• Develop strategies to modernize legacy applications, integrating mainframes with cloud platforms, microservices, and APIs.
• Define and enforce architecture governance, writing design specifications and maintaining technical documentation.
• Provide L3 troubleshooting support for middleware and system components, ensuring high availability and security.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in mainframe technologies: z/OS, Db2, CICS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, REXX, PL/I, and Assembler.
• Proficiency with utilities and tools including SORT, IEBGENER, IBM DEBUG, Xpeditor, Endeavor, and SCLM.
• 5+ years of experience in mainframe architecture and system optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps toolchains (Jenkins, GitHub).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and strategic IT transformation roadmaps.
