Description

You will design and oversee high-level architecture for mainframe systems and modernization initiatives.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mainframe architecture involving z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, and JES.
• Lead legacy system modernization, including workload migration and hybrid-cloud integration.
• Analyze system performance to implement scalability and reliability enhancements.
• Integrate mainframe systems with distributed platforms and enterprise applications.
• Guide developers and junior architects on best practices.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe environments.
• Expertise in z/OS.
• Hands-on experience with CICS.
• Proficiency with DB2.
• Experience managing IMS.
• Knowledge of JES.
• Background in hybrid-cloud integration and workload migration.
• Experience with IT governance and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing hardware and software vendor relationships.
