Description

You will develop, test, and maintain high-quality assembler code for mainframe applications.

Responsibilities

• Write and debug assembler programs to meet functional and performance requirements.
• Optimize assembler code and convert it to COBOL or PL/1.
• Manage JCL scripts for job submissions, data processing, and system operations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for code, processes, and system interactions.
• Collaborate with system analysts and developers to meet system performance goals.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe programming.
• Proficiency in IBM Assembler language.
• Strong experience writing and debugging assembler programs.
• Expertise using IBM Debug Tool or equivalent debugging utilities.
• Experience with JCL for job submission and file handling.
• Familiarity with IBM z/OS and related environments.
• Knowledge of DB2 and data management systems.
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, memory management, and processor operations.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of low-level languages such as C or C++.
