You will design, build, and maintain automation solutions for z/OS environments, reducing manual toil and improving operational reliability.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation scripts using Rexx, CLIST, and JCL for routine tasks, health checks, and system recovery.
• Develop WTOR confirmation automation and event-driven triggers for proactive incident remediation.
• Automate batch scheduling workflows in IBM Workload Scheduler and integrate with enterprise orchestration tools.
• Create self-healing mechanisms for common issues such as MQ queue backlogs and DB2 log utilization alerts.
• Ensure all automation adheres to audit requirements, maintaining version-controlled repositories and SOX/ISO compliance.

Required Skills

• 7+ years in Mainframe System Programming with a strong focus on automation.
• Proficiency in Rexx, CLIST, JCL, and experience with IBM Workload Scheduler.
• Familiarity with z/OS subsystems including DB2, IMS, CICS, and MQ.
• Strong understanding of WTOR handling, command automation, and event-driven triggers.
• Experience with version control (Git) and DevOps practices for mainframe environments.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON and RMF/SMF.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Ansible for z/OS or similar automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of REST APIs for mainframe integration with enterprise automation tools.
• Experience in observability platforms like IBM Z Monitoring Suite.
