Description

You will own the development and maintenance of mainframe automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation scripts using Rexx, CLIST, JCL, and Ansible for z/OS.
• Develop WTOR confirmation automation with validation logic for operator commands.
• Automate batch scheduling workflows using IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS) and integrate with enterprise orchestration tools.
• Create self-healing mechanisms for common issues such as MQ queue backlogs or DB2 alerts.
• Ensure automation adheres to audit requirements by capturing execution logs and artifacts.

Required Skills

• 7+ years in Mainframe System Programming with a focus on automation.
• Proficiency in Rexx, CLIST, and JCL.
• Experience with IBM Workload Scheduler automation.
• Familiarity with z/OS subsystems: DB2, IMS, CICS, and MQ.
• Strong understanding of WTOR handling, command automation, and event-driven triggers.
• Experience with version control (Git) and mainframe DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of IBM z/OS and ITIL frameworks.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Ansible for z/OS or similar automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of REST APIs for mainframe integration.
