Description

You will own the engineering, maintenance, and operational functions for the CICS system.

Responsibilities

• Maintain CICS systems and software across a 24x7 large scale Sysplex and CICSPlex environment.
• Perform problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning on the CICS environment.
• Interface with application developers and operations teams regarding CICS functions.
• Support the CICS environment through on-call maintenance outside of normal working hours.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience working with CICS in a large scale environment.
• In-depth knowledge of CICS performance tuning, debugging, and dump analysis.
• Familiarity with SMP/E for software upgrades and maintenance.
• Knowledge of all CICS parameters controlling performance in a CICSPlex environment.
• Experience with CICSPlex SM implementation, customization, and dynamic transaction routing.
• Experience using CICS monitoring tools like Sysview for CICS.
• Knowledge of COBOL to support application development needs.
• Familiarity with mainframe components including APF, VSAM, LPA, and RLS.
• Knowledge of CICS resource definitions pertaining to region performance.
