Description

You will administer and maintain critical Mainframe messaging and transaction processing environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design MQ architecture patterns for new message processing flows.
• Configure, install, and upgrade IBM MQ, defining queues, channels, and topics.
• Manage CICS TS (v5.x, v6.x), including installation, patching, and RSU maintenance.
• Perform online monitoring, investigating MQ CPU usage via SMF statistics and analyzing CICS shutdown statistics.
• Create and modify CICS regions and manage Resource Definition Online (RDO) objects.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in Mainframe administration.
• Expertise in IBM MQ product installation, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of CICS, including MRO environments and dynamic storage manipulation.
• Proficiency with z/OS CONNECT and Mainframe Message Transfer & Connectivity environments.
• Experience setting Aux and GTF traces to support vendor problem management.
• Familiarity with MQ queue sharing and MQ clustering concepts.
• Knowledge of messaging interfaces connecting to CICS, DB2, and IMS.
• Experience using monitoring tools like MQ Explorer, OmegaMon for MQ, and Splunk.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with CICS utilities, including creating transaction and system dumps.
