Description

You will administer and maintain critical mainframe systems, focusing on CICS and MQ environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer CICS, including product administration, resource definitions in online/batch modes, region builds, and initialization parameters.
• Manage MQ products on z/OS, including defining and monitoring MQ objects, regions, and sharing concepts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues and abends for both CICS and MQ environments.
• Support application teams with CICS-specific problems, including intercommunication setup and CICS adapter control functions.
• Identify, install, and manage system patches, including ISV upgrades and security administration.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with CICS administration.
• Expertise in CICS product administration, including ISV upgrades and patching.
• Mandatory knowledge of CICSPlex concepts.
• Mandatory knowledge of MQ sharing concepts.
• Experience with MQ product upgrades, maintenance, and object definition.
• Proficiency in managing WebSphere MQ resources (BSDS, Pagesets, buffer pools, logs).
• Experience with 24x7 system support.
• Familiarity with CICS intercommunication setup and maintenance.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to identify and install necessary system patches independently.
