Description

You will lead CICS system programming and engineering activities for large-scale environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Perform system and software maintenance for CICS environments.
• Support 24x7 Sysplex and CICSPlex systems for high availability.
• Conduct advanced performance tuning, debugging, and dump analysis.
• Collaborate with application development and operations teams.
• Provide on-call production support and resolve critical issues.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe CICS System Programmer.
• Strong expertise in SMP/E, CICS upgrades, and software maintenance.
• Deep knowledge of CICS parameters controlling performance in CICSPlex.
• Extensive experience with CICS SMF record structures and CICS Performance Analyzer.
• Proven experience implementing and customizing CICSPlex SM, including Dynamic Transaction Routing (DTR).
• In-depth understanding of CICS resource definitions affecting region performance.
• Experience with CICS monitoring tools such as Sysview for CICS.
• Strong skills in problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of COBOL to support application developers.

Preferred Skills

• Assembler, COBOL, REXX, CICS Exits.
• Web app support in CICS TS v6.x z/OS facilities (APF, VSAM, RLS, Coupling Facility).
• CICS REST services and CICS Configuration Manager.
