Description

Manage and optimize CICS environments within a CICSPlex architecture. Own the release pipeline, problem determination, and performance tuning for mission-critical mainframe transactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage CICS software upgrades and maintenance using SMP/E.
• Perform problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning.
• Implement and customize dynamic transaction routing.
• Use CICS SMF record structures and Performance Analyzer tools to gather statistics for region tuning.
• Support application developers through COBOL knowledge.

Required Skills

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a CICS Systems Programmer or Engineer.
• Expert knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language).
• Deep understanding of CICS parameters controlling performance in CICSPlex environments.
• Proficiency with SMP/E for software maintenance.
• Experience with CICS monitoring tools and the CICS Performance Analyzer.
• Hands-on experience with SMF record structures.
• Knowledge of COBOL to assist development teams.
• Familiarity with IBM TSO.
• Experience with ROSCOE, BMC Control-M, and BMC Control-D.
