Description

Manage all phases of CICS engineering, system maintenance, and operational functions within a large-scale Sysplex and CICSPlex environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade software using SMP/E.
• Perform problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning.
• Manage CICSPlex SM implementation, customization, and dynamic transaction routing.
• Support application developers and operations teams through technical interfacing.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support the 24x7 environment.

Required Skills

• Expert-level experience with CICS in a Sysplex environment.
• Proficiency with Mainframe WebSphere MQ.
• Deep knowledge of CICS performance tuning, SMF record structures, and the CICS Performance Analyzer tool.
• Experience with CICS monitoring tools such as Sysview.
• Ability to work with COBOL to support application development.
• Technical command of Sysplex, APF, Linklist, VSAM, LPA, and Coupling Facility.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for troubleshooting and documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Assembler and COBOL coding for CICS Exits.
• Web application support in a CICS TS V5 environment.
• Knowledge of CICS Interdependency Analyzer, z/OS & CICS Explorer, Natural language, and Adabas.
