Description

You will maintain and enhance mainframe applications within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe and integrated systems throughout the full development life cycle.
• Maintain software and web applications to meet business requirements in an SOA environment.
• Support production environments, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure operational continuity.
• Manage integrations between internal systems and vendor platforms, including debit and credit card processing.
• Create technical designs, functional documentation, and perform thorough unit testing to validate application performance.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience implementing and managing software solutions.
• 4+ years of experience designing and developing mainframe technical solutions.
• 2+ years of hands-on programming in a mainframe environment using COBOL and CICS.
• Proficiency with IBM z/OS tools including Assembler, Easytrieve, ISPF, VSAM, Endeavor, TSO, JCL, and IBM Utilities.
• Strong understanding of SDLC processes, from requirements gathering to technical design documentation.
• Experience working within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) involving business process automation and shared object models.
• Ability to perform technical analysis and troubleshooting within complex system environments.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of system design experience specifically within the financial or insurance industry.
