Description

You will lead COBOL application development and system documentation for mainframe solutions.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop COBOL applications and write detailed technical design documents.
• Gather requirements using waterfall and agile methodologies to build IT solutions.
• Manage change control processes by validating Local and Enterprise Change Board documents.
• Execute secure coding, release management, and defect tracking for problem resolution.
• Validate test data and results while providing accurate project estimations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe development and application design.
• Proficiency in COBOL application development.
• Experience writing and modifying system documentation.
• Ability to perform secure coding and release management.
• Strong technical communication skills for explaining complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with project/work estimation and data capture software.
• Ability to work independently and lead meetings or special project committees.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Xgen, Algol, Unisys, BL products, Programmer’s Workbench, Cande, DMSII, COMS, WFL, or ERGO.
