Description

You will manage workload automation and output management for z/OS environments. You own the scheduling, configuration, and operational stability of Control-M implementations.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage Job Scheduling Definitions, including parameters, conditions, and resources.
• Use SMART Tables and calendars to schedule jobs and optimize workload distribution.
• Operate the Active Environment to confirm job orders, review statuses, check logs, and hold or delete jobs.
• Install and configure Control-M for z/OS as the Admin role.
• Resolve batch ABENDs and support production control activities.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe environments as a System Engineer or Production Control.
• Strong working knowledge of Control-M for z/OS.
• Proficiency in MVS, JES2, TSO, SDSF, and ISPF (commands, functions, EDIT, DSLIST, utilities).
• Deep understanding of JCL and IBM utilities: IEBGENER, IDCAMS, IECOPY, IEBCOMPR, IEHLIST, IEFBR14, IEBUPDATE, SORT/MERGE.
• Experience with REXX scripting.
• Familiarity with RACF/ACF/DF/SMS security frameworks.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of DB2.
• Experience with scheduling and output management competition products (CA, IBM, HCL).
• Exposure to distributed systems and Control-M implementations in distributed environments.
