Description

You will manage and optimize DB2 environments on z/OS for large-scale financial production systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop log scraping strategies to optimize CPU, memory, and staging space usage.
• Translate business requirements into physical models focusing on performance, availability, and recoverability.
• Implement application-specific backup and recovery strategies and manage log retention policies.
• Consult with application teams on ACF2 and RACF managed database security and provisioning.
• Monitor exception reports and build Splunk dashboards to ensure production stability.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of DB2 DBA experience on z/OS at a single large financial institution.
• In-depth knowledge of Mainframe DB2 with a focus on performance tuning.
• Expertise with DB2 Utilities including IBM and BMC tools.
• Working knowledge of BMC Change Manager, Catalog Manager, Mainview, and SQL Performance tools.
• Solid understanding of DB2 recovery options.
• Broad understanding of ACF2 and RACF managed security for DB2 access.
• Working knowledge of Endevor.
• Experience with ITSM processes and tools, specifically BMC Remedy.
• Experience supporting Self-Identified Audits, Control assessments, and SOX reviews.
