Description

You will own the health, integrity, and maintenance of mainframe DB2 systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and implement new DB2 features and third-party product updates.
• Engineer and execute processes to upgrade mainframe database system software.
• Maintain DSNZPARMs and implement automated disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Monitor and troubleshoot DB2 address spaces for performance issues.
• Consult on DB2 database application architecture and design strategy.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience as a Mainframe DB2 System Programmer.
• Proficiency in DB2 Database configuration across different Mainframe LPARs.
• Extensive use of utilities and Performance Monitoring tools (BMC, CA, IBM).
• Knowledge of SMP/E and applying maintenance to a DB2 subsystem.
• Ability to create and modify WLM address spaces for stored procedures.
• Experience with database security management and backup/recovery strategies.
• Skills in capacity planning and scalability analysis.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automated disaster recovery implementation.
