Description

You will manage and maintain DB2 environments on z/OS to ensure system stability and performance.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade and migrate DB2 versions, including managing DB2 IVS products.
• Perform database reorganizations, define physical databases (DDL), and build objects such as tables, indexes, views, and triggers.
• Manage security by controlling user IDs, rights, privileges, and implementing security compliance corrections.
• Execute maintenance tasks including applying PTFs/APARs, recycling DB2, image copies, and log archiving.
• Monitor threads, tablespace, and index spaces to resolve events and manage escalations.

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 years of experience with DB2 UDB on z/OS.
• Proficiency in z/OS and SQL.
• Expertise in DB2 performance tuning.
• Experience with offline utilities: DSNJU003, DSNJU004, and DSNJLOGF.
• Experience with online utilities: CHECKDATA, COPY, QUIESCE, REPAIR, REORG, LOAD, and UNLOAD.
• Knowledge of DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) base software installs, upgrades, and security compliance.
• Experience setting up Disaster Recovery (DR) via various synchronization methods.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to manage system catalogs and application data environments.
