Description

You will install, upgrade, and customize DB2 and associated IBM or third-party software on z/OS. You own the creation, modification, and maintenance of DB2 databases. You provide technical system support for DB2 subsystems, database tools, and utilities while supporting business and application requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and maintain DB2 environments and associated software.
• Monitor DB2 performance and health in the z/OS environment.
• Create, modify, and maintain DB2 databases and subsystems.
• Provide technical support for DB2 tools, utilities, and end-user applications.
• Execute DB2 disaster recovery procedures and resolve log offload stalls.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience as a Mainframe DB2 System Programmer or Administrator.
• Deep expertise in DB2 on z/OS, including installation and customization.
• Proficiency with DB2 utilities, SMF records, and disaster recovery processes.
• Knowledge of ZPARM controls for Batch and TSO connections.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve LPL status issues and active log full conditions.
• Experience with DB2 early code commands and tablespace recovery.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with third-party DB2 management tools and automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex DB2 subsystem failures.
