Description

You will lead mainframe modernization and legacy migration efforts, translating COBOL and JCL systems into Java and Python-based distributed architectures.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Migrate mainframe applications from on-premise to Azure or Microfocus environments.
• Modernize legacy COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, and DB2 codebases using Java and Python.
• Triage production issues using standard mainframe tools and develop automation scripts.
• Define team composition and requirements for migration projects.
• Document business requirements and manage the product development lifecycle in Agile.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Mainframe & Java Modernization.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, and MQ.
• Hands-on experience with Java Full Stack Development (FSD).
• Experience with Python for automation and problem statement development.
• Proven track record in Legacy Migration Center of Excellence (LMCOE).
• Experience with VSAM and CICS.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microfocus migration tools.
• Knowledge of distributed Java solutions.
