Description

Lead mainframe development and enhancement projects for existing applications.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions for new developments or enhancements.
• Develop efficient, structured COBOL code adhering to established standards.
• Debug applications, apply troubleshooting techniques, and resolve issues to ensure code meets functional requirements.
• Write and execute unit test cases, preparing test results to validate code quality.
• Coordinate with developers, testers, and users for integration, QAT, and UAT testing phases.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL and JCL.
• Experience with DB2 database management and query optimization.
• Understanding of VSAM and CICS transaction processing.
• Proficiency with debugging tools and file management techniques.
• Familiarity with change management and version control tools.
• Ability to interpret requirements and deliver quality output on time.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent communication skills for customer status reviews and requirement discussions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities in complex technical environments.
