Description

You will design, develop, and enhance mainframe applications, focusing on CICS online programs and transaction processing.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CICS online programs, transactions, maps, client screens, and APIs.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and tune performance for CICS transactions.
• Support batch and online processing, managing scheduling and workflow.
• Conduct impact analysis, code reviews, and unit testing for changes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with CICS development.
• Expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Proficiency in writing and debugging CICS COBOL programs.
• Experience with CICS commands (LINK, XCTL, START, READ/WRITE, TS/TD Queues).
• Familiarity with CEDF/CICS debugging tools.
• Experience using IBM utilities like FILE-AID, Abend-AID, and SDSF.
• Strong understanding of transaction processing and mainframe performance tuning.
