Description

You will own the development, testing, and deployment of application fixes in an SLA-driven mainframe environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Code and test high-priority changes using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Manage the full lifecycle of change requests from implementation through closure.
• Resolve production issues, including batch process abnormal ends and emergency bug fixes, within strict SLAs.
• Conduct technical walkthroughs, design reviews, and prepare test plans for unit, regression, and system testing.
• Perform root cause analysis and debugging to resolve client research requests and technical issues.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of software development engineering experience.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
• Working knowledge of IBM Mainframe Z/OS toolsets.
• Experience with CA7 job scheduling, IDCAMS, SyncSort, and Endevor.
• Hands-on use of File-Aid, Abend-Aid, and Infogix.
• Competency in file transmission via FTP and NDM.
• Ability to provide 24x7 production support for up to one week at a time.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Mainframe technologies, UNIX, Informatica, SQL Server, PUTTY, and WINSCP.
• Technical design writing and documentation skills.
