Description

You will own the maintenance, documentation, and optimization of legacy COBOL applications within a mainframe environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer COBOL programs to document technical specifications and business requirements.
• Write, maintain, and optimize code for COBOL, JCL, and file handling processes.
• Analyze and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision.
• Partner with application SMEs and technology teams to align business requirements.
• Interact directly with clients to ensure technical solutions meet business needs.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe environments.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL and JCL programming.
• Extensive experience with Mainframe Batch processing.
• Practical experience using FILE-AID and SYNCSORT utilities.
• Expertise in file handling mechanisms and complex programming logic.
• Proven ability to extract and document business requirements from legacy code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage client interactions effectively.
