Description

You will develop, maintain, and optimize core mainframe applications for critical business systems.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for new modules.
• Optimize existing code to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Provide L2/L3 support for critical applications and troubleshoot job failures.
• Maintain technical documentation, including design specs and operational procedures.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe development.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL (COBOL/370, COBOL II).
• Expertise in JCL (Job Control Language).
• Hands-on experience with DB2 and SQL.
• Working knowledge of CICS and VSAM.
• Experience with batch and online processing.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis on production issues.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with FileAid, Expeditor, Abend-AID, or Changeman/Endevor.
• Knowledge of mainframe modernization or cloud migration processes.
