Description

You will reverse engineer legacy application requirements and business rules by analyzing mainframe COBOL code.

Responsibilities

• Analyze COBOL code to extract system requirements and business rules from legacy applications.
• Develop and test mainframe applications using TELON, COBOL, DB2, JCL, and SQL.
• Validate user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases against reversed engineered requirements.
• Estimate development tasks, participate in sprint planning, and perform design and code reviews.
• Create, implement, monitor, and validate change requests while supporting performance and security reviews.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development.
• Proficiency in COBOL and DB2.
• Experience with JCL and SQL.
• Hands-on use of SPUFI, FILEAID, and ENDEVOR.
• Working knowledge of CICS, CA7, and TELON.
• Experience using Postman for testing.
• Understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies.
• Ability to perform impact analysis and peer code quality checks.

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating with project stakeholders and scrum teams to clarify domain requirements.
