Description

You will lead the migration of the Florida PALM System by analyzing, documenting, and converting legacy Mainframe FOCUS assets to T-SQL.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing computing assets, including technical specifications and business rules, to support system transition.
• Read and document Mainframe FOCUS queries and convert them to T-SQL queries.
• Convert Focus mainframe programs using flat files as a data source to use database tables instead.
• Diagnose and resolve issues by performing root cause analysis and debugging existing processes.
• Coordinate with business analysts, product owners, and database administrators to remediate data structures and interfaces.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in multiple IT areas, including 3 years of relevant architecture experience.
• Expert knowledge of Tibco Mainframe FOCUS and JCL.
• Experience with mainframe batch schedulers and chaining jobs between predecessors and dependents.
• Proficiency with column delimited flat text file structures and master files.
• Experience with complex queries involving multiple data sources.
• Ability to document and communicate technical requirements, bridging the gap between technical and business language.
• Experience with Entity Relationship Diagrams and the SCRUM Framework.
• Bachelor's degree in technology or finance, or equivalent years of work experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cool GEN, COBOL, DB2 z/OS, and DB2 Database.
• Knowledge of financial systems such as an ERP.
