Description

You will develop, test, and debug software within an IBM Mainframe environment to meet business and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Code, test, and debug new software or enhancements using COBOL and JCL.
• Research and resolve production issues, including troubleshooting mainframe online and batch abends.
• Evaluate daily and monthly batch processes to improve performance and shorten critical path windows.
• Perform impact analysis across multiple platforms and applications.
• Deliver complete documentation for estimates, design, and development.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in software development, coding, testing, and design.
• Expertise in IBM Mainframe environments using COBOL, DB2, CICS, MQ Series, and JCL.
• Proficiency with MQ, Visio, XML, and Quality Center.
• Experience with database management, data extraction, and stored procedures.
• Minimum 5 years of Automotive Finance experience, specifically in Dealer Financial Services, Flooring, Wholesale Line of Credit, or Commercial Loans.
• Ability to utilize system traces and debugging tools for issue resolution.
• Strong capability in software construction, infrastructure, and configuration standards.
• Advanced ability to analyze and model business functions and information flow.

Preferred Skills

• Mentor and coach less experienced staff on programming practices and techniques.
• Support nightly batch production and follow established configuration/change control processes.
