Description

You will design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications while enabling modern DevOps practices for z/OS environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mainframe applications using COBOL, PL/I, JCL, REXX, and Assembler.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for mainframe delivery using IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB), Jenkins, and Git-based version control.
• Manage migration planning, execution, and dataset transfers for z/OS workloads and batch jobs.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, abends, and performance issues in DB2, CICS, and IMS environments.
• Integrate mainframe processes with enterprise tools like Jira, ServiceNow, and Confluence.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with COBOL, PL/I, JCL, and REXX.
• Hands-on expertise in IBM z/OS, DB2 for z/OS, CICS, and IMS.
• Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
• Strong understanding of DevOps automation tools and IBM DBB.
• Experience with mainframe migration and modernization projects.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and performance tuning for legacy systems.
• Experience integrating with Jira and ServiceNow.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automated testing frameworks for COBOL/PL/I programs.
• Knowledge of SMP/E, IDCAMS, and LPAR configuration.
