Mainframe Development Lead

Lead a development team through the full software delivery pipeline, from design to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead developers in executing the pipeline and delivering software to QA and Production.
• Manage day-to-day activities and drive agile software development practices.
• Interface with product owners, business stakeholders, and operations to ensure on-time delivery.
• Decompose stories, design features, and provide development sizing and cost estimates.
• Perform hands-on development, mentoring, and code reviews for onshore and offshore teams.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional experience building mainframe applications using COBOL.
• Proficiency in CICS, DB2, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with JCL and MQ.
• Working knowledge of Basic IBM OS/Z.
• Experience with Jira for project tracking.
• Ability to support integration efforts to build whole systems from various subsystems.
• Experience utilizing automated software test tools and frameworks like test-driven development.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SOAP, REST, and XML.
• Background in Java or .Net.
• Deep experience with VSAM, ISPF, MVS, and Websphere MQ.
