Description

You will own the observability, performance, and efficiency of mainframe infrastructure, identifying capacity and performance exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain observability solutions and dashboards to monitor mainframe performance metrics and system health.
• Analyze performance data using RMF, SmartIS, iZPCA, and MICs to identify trends, bottlenecks, and tuning opportunities.
• Collect and analyze system data to generate reports, KPIs, and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations, development, and infrastructure teams to provide technical guidance and support.
• Participate in on-call rotations to respond to performance and observability issues.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of mainframe systems experience with proficiency in z/OS, multi-processor, multi-LPAR, and Parallel Sysplex environments.
• Hands-on experience with RMF, SmartIS, iZPCA, and MICs.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and REXX programming.
• Strong understanding of batch processing and job scheduling.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot tables, Vlookups, and PowerPivot.
• Experience working with large, highly transactional datasets to derive actionable insights.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Mathematics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred Skills

• Python or Java experience on the mainframe.
• IBM SCRT Reporting and iZPCA product experience.
