Description

Lead legacy modernization by migrating mainframe workloads to distributed, cloud, or on-premises infrastructures.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop applications for cloud or on-premises platforms.
• Extract business rules from mainframe code to derive modernization solutions.
• Design architectures for AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenShift to meet workload requirements.
• Implement DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code and automated deployment.
• Lead technical assessments to formulate plans for modernizing applications and data stores.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe and non-x86 legacy systems.
• 10 years of experience designing architectures for enterprise systems.
• 5 years of experience as a technical lead migrating workloads to distributed x86 infrastructures.
• 5 years of experience integrating legacy systems with Linux or Windows x86 servers.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, Java, Rexx, and VSAM.
• Experience with z/OS and AS400 platforms.
• Hands-on experience with CAST Highlight and CAST Imaging software.
• Expertise with Microfocus and Heirloom products for discovery and migration.
• Knowledge of re-platforming and rewrite methodologies for mainframe workloads.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of designing MongoDB, Bigframe, or data lake solutions.
