Description

You will design, develop, and maintain mainframe systems, translating client requirements into detailed specifications and production-ready code.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2/SQL.
• Gather client requirements and translate them into detailed system specifications.
• Create supporting tools using REXX or CLIST to enhance system functions.
• Estimate work requirements for projects and communicate findings to leads and managers.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional experience in mainframe development.
• Expert knowledge of COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and CICS.
• Proficiency with TSO/ISPF and debugging tools like XPEDITOR.
• Experience with batch processing and batch scheduling inputs.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as ChangeMan or Endeavor.
• Ability to work within diverse, multi-stakeholder team environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with PL/I, Natural, ADABAS, or IMS/IDMS.
