Description

You will design, develop, and maintain critical enterprise applications within the IBM MVS mainframe environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL and JCL.
• Design, execute, and optimize SQL queries within DB2 for data retrieval and performance tuning.
• Manage batch processing workflows using Automic or CA7 schedulers.
• Implement and support inter-system messaging via IBM MQ.
• Analyze production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL development.
• Proficiency in DB2 database development, query execution, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with IBM MVS environments, including job execution and debugging.
• Strong knowledge of IBM MQ for messaging and integration.
• Experience with batch scheduling tools, specifically Automic or CA7.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux commands and scripting for automation and support.
• Understanding of ETL processes and cross-platform data integration involving Oracle or SQL Server.
• Experience with mainframe file handling, including dataset processing and SFTP transmission.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with VSAM, flat files, and file reconciliation processes.
• Experience with change management and deployment tools in enterprise environments.
