Description

You will own the design, configuration, and maintenance of mainframe operating environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain mainframe operating environments including z/OS, JES2, and z/VM.
• Implement and maintain mainframe security measures using RACF, access controls, and encryption.
• Lead mainframe operating system projects, covering upgrades, enhancements, and operational support.
• Optimize mainframe operating system performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mainframe operating system issues across internal teams and vendors.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience designing and maintaining mainframe platforms, including Parallel Sysplex, z/OS, JES2, and z/VM.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe security concepts, specifically RACF and access controls.
• Proficiency in mainframe performance monitoring and tuning using SMF, RMF, BMC AMI OPS, and IBM Intellimagic Vision.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and support Parallel Sysplex application enablement.
• Experience providing technical leadership for managed service providers and offshore teams.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex mainframe operating system issues.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
