Description

You will design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs on IBM zOS systems while ensuring high-quality delivery through rigorous testing and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize COBOL programs and JCL scripts for batch job execution on IBM zOS.
• Write and tune DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures, addressing performance bottlenecks.
• Debug and troubleshoot application-level issues, providing timely production support and incident resolution.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, collaborating with business analysts and QA teams.
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing while adhering to coding standards and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL development on mainframe systems.
• Strong expertise in JCL for batch job management and DB2 including SQL and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with CICS for online transaction processing.
• Proficiency in TSO/ISPF and mainframe debugging tools.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of COBOL programs.
• Knowledge of mainframe utilities such as SORT and IDCAMS.
