Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications and services, ensuring robust architecture and efficient delivery.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software architecture, defining technology stacks and integration methods.
• Develop and maintain back-end applications, APIs, and microservices using COBOL and JCL.
• Analyze and resolve production issues, handling enhancements and rotational on-call support.
• Define test strategies, execute unit tests, and ensure security practices for data protection.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to break down user stories and manage backlog.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in development.
• Proficiency in Job Control Language (JCL): writing structured jobs, debugging errors, and understanding schedule IDs.
• Strong COBOL skills: coding and debugging standard programs with moderate complexity.
• IBM DB2 expertise: understanding relational databases, coding/debugging SQL, and managing keys/indexes.
• Experience with Mainframe Systems: ISPF, File Manager, CA7, Syncsort, and sFTP.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Waterfall) and tools like Jira for user story development.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Preferred Skills

• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and writing SQL queries.
• Understanding of relational database design, table structures, and key field identification.
