Description

You will analyze, develop, test, and migrate code for legacy mainframe systems.

Responsibilities

• Trace and document data system logic and flows by analyzing JCL, COBOL programs, Bachman diagrams, CICS definitions, ADSO/IDMS programs, and third-party utility control cards, IDCAMS, SYNCSORT, and DMLOs.
• Extract and document business rules embedded in mainframe programs, third-party utilities, and data manipulation products, covering both business and functional aspects.
• Analyze and document current mainframe logic and flows, correlating system support with current business, Federal, and State requirements in collaboration with users.
• Perform on-call duties for nightly and weekend batch cycles.
• Generate detailed documentation that will serve as the basis for system rewrites.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience working with mainframe systems.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and ADSO/IDMS.
• Demonstrated ability to read and analyze mainframe data manipulation processes.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills necessary for coordinating with multiple teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail required for accurate documentation.
• Experience in tracing and documenting system logic flows.
