You will analyze, develop, test, and migrate code for legacy mainframe systems.
Responsibilities
Trace and document data system logic and flows by analyzing JCL, COBOL programs, Bachman diagrams, CICS definitions, ADSO/IDMS programs, and third-party utility control cards, IDCAMS, SYNCSORT, and DMLOs.
Extract and document business rules embedded in mainframe programs, third-party utilities, and data manipulation products, covering both business and functional aspects.
Analyze and document current mainframe logic and flows, correlating system support with current business, Federal, and State requirements in collaboration with users.
Perform on-call duties for nightly and weekend batch cycles.
Generate detailed documentation that will serve as the basis for system rewrites.
Required Skills
8+ years of experience working with mainframe systems.
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and ADSO/IDMS.
Demonstrated ability to read and analyze mainframe data manipulation processes.
Strong written and spoken communication skills necessary for coordinating with multiple teams.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail required for accurate documentation.
Experience in tracing and documenting system logic flows.
