Description

Manage and support IMS database environments in a high-availability enterprise setting. This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design, support, and optimize IMS database performance and data integrity.
• Perform backup, recovery, and reorganization activities for mission-critical applications.
• Collaborate with application development, system programming, and operations teams to ensure seamless database operations.
• Participate in complex database projects, including migrations and infrastructure support.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of DBA experience supporting IMS databases in a z/OS environment.
• Experience with Sysplexed Data Sharing.
• Strong knowledge of Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB databases, including secondary indexing and logical relationships.
• Hands-on experience with IMS utilities, database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and REXX.
• Experience with batch and online IMS environments.
• Proven ability in database recovery, abend resolution, and resolving data integrity issues.
