Description

You will administer and optimize IBM z/OS IMS environments, ensuring high availability and performance for critical business systems.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Manage IMS DB and TM administration, including DBD/PSB/ACB control regions and transaction processing.
• Perform buffer pool tuning, performance optimization, and dump/log analysis for abend resolution.
• Configure and maintain IMS integration with DB2, CICS, and MQ, alongside distributed systems.
• Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using IMS utilities and SMP/E.
• Administer RACF security controls and manage Sysplex high-availability architectures.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience with IBM z/OS operating system.
• Deep expertise in IMS DB/TM administration and control regions.
• Proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and SMP/E.
• Strong troubleshooting skills including dump analysis and abend resolution.
• Experience integrating IMS with DB2, CICS, and MQ.
• Familiarity with RACF security controls for IMS environments.
• Understanding of Sysplex and high availability architectures.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to IMS modernization or API enablement (z/OS Connect, REST integration).
• Experience with monitoring tools (OMEGAMON, MainView, RMF) and automation (REXX, Ansible, z/OSMF).
